linux OS
At lindows.com you can download a version of the linux OS
and load and run it on a PC. To go back to the Microsoft OS you just reboot with the boot disc. Is this a good idea or are their any dangers with doing this as a trial of the alternative OS? Regards TimSalom |

i haven't heard many good things about lindows, but i've got a boot disk with Knoppix on it that i've played around with...yes, you are able to load up off the cd without damaging anything, i think it creates some swap files on your hard drive, but these are temporary...Knoppix made me need a purely linux machine...good luck...

In my opinion, avoid Lindows.
Download any other complete Linux distro and dual boot, if you have some extra space, or use a CD-based distro as mentioned above. You'll be much happier with almost any other distribution of Linux than you will ever be with Lindows. |
