Mandrake 9.2 and Netgear.

OK, I had two different versions of Red Hat and now two different versions of Mandrake (9.1 and 9.2) None of the systems will run my Netgear MA101 USB wireless adapter. Without it I can't get on the interent, making Linux less attractive as an OS for my purposes. It knows that the Netgear is there because it will show it in my hardware profiles. It just won't use it as an internent connection. Dioes anyone know how to get it to use the USB wireless to connect to the internet?

Hi

Did you manage to find a solution for your netgear wireless adapter? I have the same adapter and am about to install Mandrake 9.2 in a dual boot with windows XP, but if I cannot connect to the internet its pretty useless to me?

Cheers
Haggis

Actually I haven't, but I stopped messing with it for the time being. I have since decided that I like Rehat, which also has the same problem with netgear, better than Mnadrake, so I am going to try their new Fedora Core Linux. In the meantime I put Redhat on a computer that is connected to the wired end of my Netgear router. That worked flawlessly. I am new to Linux so after doing some reading, it may be that I just configured something wrong and I will use Redhat connected in this manner until I get chance to research the configuration more. Though from pther posts I have seen, netgear is problematic with Linux.

There is a site www.linuxquestions.org that has a forum simliar to this that deals with nothing but Linux. There is a Linux Newbie forum and a linux distrubutions forums where they have a forum for just about all major Linux Distros, except Suse Linux. Through that site I found a link to a another site that has all the drivers for netork adapters that didn't come with the original distro. They have one for the Netgear MA101. I haven't tried it yet, but it is there.

If I find the link again I will post it here.
