I have OS WinME and WinNT on my system. Now I try to install Redhat Linux 7. It gives me error messages during packages reading. Then it froze the system.
How do I troubleshooting that, so I can have a smoothing installation? |

You do realize
What a tall order it is to try to diagnose your problem. You have not divulged any information as to what the error is. And when the error occured. Were you trying a Windows install or a GUI install or a dos boot install or a CD boot install or a .... the possibilities are endless.
Post back with more information that "am having errors" and maybe you might get help. |

Ouch anaconda errors...
Those are tough cookies, the good news is that RH7 in its best copy of Micro$oft apparently is plagued with these errors on initial builds throughout its versions 6.1 had it so did 6.2.
You need to put in the following update patch: http://www.redhat.com/support/errata...00-084-04.html Reference to your bug is on bugzilla: http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/...g.cgi?id=18019 |

Well, I downloaded the updatedisk.img, but the file is bigger than floppy capacity. the file is 1.40 and all of my floppy only got 1.38. Do you think it will work if I use the IomegaZipdisk?

So here's the delay in the answer to hope that you figured out the solution yourself... if not, please go back and read the ENTIRE page that I posted as a URL. I have taken the effort to search out bugtraq & redhat sites for your problem, the least you can do is read the possible solution page ENTIRELY.
PS: Just to make sure that I wasnt wrong, I did make sure that I followed the instructions on that page and go from there. If u did the same it would be obvious. PPS: This is not an attempt at being a smart*ss but at getting ppl to help themselves, in case u have another problem that is similar in nature good luck. If u still couldnt get it to work, someone would be happy to help you. |
