Dlink DWL-520+ drivers in RedHat9
I am new to linux, my friends know it and are helping me learn. I just installed Redhat 9. I have a DLink 520+ wireless PCI card which works under windows. I have heard bad things about Dlink concerning the Linux community. A google search for 520+ drivers came up with this
http://acx100.sourceforge.net/index.html and this http://www.houseofcraig.net/acx100_howto.php Is it worth trying to setup the card? Has anyone here done it before? Any input/feedback would be appreciated. |

As a follow up, and for others info:
The tutorial and drivers originally posted are wonderful. After a few minor issues, that were easy to figure out, the card works perfectly now. I was completelt new to Linux, and had no trouble following the directions and using my own firmware. |

Don't mean to ride sommeone else's post, but I came here to ask the same question. I just bought the same D-link and I am trying to install it on Redhat 9 also.
ogrerocks. I just posted this same question at www.linuxquestions.org if you want to see if I get any replies there. Go into forums, then Linux Distrobutions, then Redhat. I use the same name on that board. Last edited by Karnevil9; 11-16-2003 at 06:33 PM. |

As I said before, the two links in the first post got mr through it, fairly painlessly.
Just follow the guide step by step. FYI: I had to complie my own drivers, and I used my own firmware. |

I have to type faster. Anyway on my system the D-link performed so badly on my XP that I am returning it. I am going back to my netgear USB MA101, whcih never worked on Redhat either but was a consistent performer on XP. So I am back to square one. I will check the links above to see if they help in the netgear area. Thanks.
