help, newbie

when I try to download mandrake from a mirror site, the folder is to big for my hard drive and the conection stops. Are there certain fles that can i download to install mandrake, without downloading the hole folder.


thank you four your help, i have never used linux, but i really want drop windows

do you mean the *.iso file? If so, I don't think you can get around downloading that. You might want to check out a site that sells cds of Linux distros. I'm not sure of any off the top of my head, but I know they're out there.

If it's too big to fit, how would you install it? It sounds like it's time to upgrade to a second and / or larger drive.

If you have around 650 meg of space and a burner-you can download each of the iso files and burn them then delete. You can always go to www.cheapbytes.com or www.almostfreelinux.com.
It will cost about 6 bucks for a distro,but if you dont have the space..and two rails is correct-where you gonna put the linux with so little available space??hth
