help

i installed linux mandrake 9.2 on my comp the other day to see what it was like and i liked it but im just too used to windows so i want to put it back on my comp...the problem is now i cant seem to get mandrake to fully uninstall...i've used my HP recovery CD to format and install win98 and the other programs but once i restart i get the mandrake screen asking me to choose linux/floppy/etc i cant get it to load into win98...i thought by doing a format it would get rid of mandrake but it seems to linger...any ideas...? i've tried using a boot disk and running fdisk...i tried several different things with that to no avail...still i get mandrake which has an error so it stops and sits there until i hit the power button...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance...let me know if you need more info...

Make a win98 startup disk, boot off it and run the following when you get to a command prompt:

fdisk /mbr

Your problem is that the linux boot loader, lilo, is written to your mbr. The only way to get rid of it is to overwrite it with something new. The above DOS command writes the standard windows boot loader to the mbr thus getting rid of lilo.
