After a week of fighting with it, I have finally installed Red Hat Linux. I am definately a newbie to Linux so I am understandably rather excited. My question is, do any of you know a good place to go to download Linux software? Also I would like to use Webshots as my background. How do you get it to work with Linux? Or can you?

Definately NOT as easy as windows. Or maybe I'm just used to the windows installation. The hardest part was trying to get everything partitioned right on the HD. After that it was simple!

then you did it the hard way
if you had unallacted hard disk space , say like 20 gig, it would have been no differant than xp installation at least it was with red hat ver. 9.0 there is several sites that have software, just do a google search and you will see |

Well, you see that's the trouble. I burned up my CDRW so I had no way to write the ISO images to disk. This meant I had to install from the hard drive which was already almost full with a Windows XP Professional installation with the 3 ISOs on it. It's just a 9 GB drive. I had to get rid of as much excess as possible to make room for the new partition.
