Cleaning out some Linux OS's
Wasn't sure where to put this post. Since I am not selling these items I didn't place it in the trading post.
I have some downloaded ISO disks of a few linux OS's that I no longer need. Nothing fancy, just a label on them stating the system, version and disk number. I need to make room in my disk holder. I have Mandrake 9.1 Fedora Severn Fedora Core 1 Vector Linux SOHO Vector Linux 4.0 If you would like one of these, post reply here and I will give to the first responders. Please select just one or order of preference if your choice is already taken. I guess originaly my post may have been confusing. I'm giving these away for free if your interested Last edited by Karnevil9; 01-16-2004 at 08:21 PM. |

I have never heard of the Linux dristos that you have listed after Mandrake. Do you have some links that provide more info on them? TIA.

ric449 is correct, Fedora is just the name for Rehat free edition. Redhat is getting away from making a home version so it is using Fedora to distribute to home users and allowing people to make changes to it and upgrade it ala Debian. Sometimes Fedora Core 1 is reffered to as Redhat 10. The Severn edition was the unstable version, while still in the trial stages, about a month later they came out with with Core 1, the first official release. I noticed no difference between the two. You can go to www.redhat.com and click on the Fedora Project.
Vector is a prebuilt Linux system based on Slackware. I think SOHO was a live evaluation CD, truthfully I never got that one up and running properly. I did like the Vector 4.0 though and only removed it from my system when I decided I wanted to go with Debian or a Debian based sytem. www.vector.com. is the web site. |

Hmmm. No takers. OK I think I will move this to the trading post forum and see what happens. Could a moderator close this thread so I won't be double posting.
