New to Linux

Well I have just installed Red Hat 9 on an old Dell I have . This is my first try at this. If anyone has any tips or suggestions please send them my way. I am using it now to send this.

Hi Floppyman, right now I'm still playing with it. I did notice that I cant see the Linux machine from my windows machines on the network, however I can see the windows machines from the Linux one.

MikeL, thanks for the link. Goods stuff!

its cause Windows wont let you see it because it will only network with Windows machines. however Linux allows you to network with a windows machine. so in other words, windows hates linux

I think this fits into this topic. I have Mandrake 8.2 installed on my system, and I have it networked with my computer (I'm using VMware to run it virtually but shouldn't make any differencec), how do i get it that I can see the windows files from linux?
