Getting back hdd space

Hi all,

I installed Slackware 9.1 last night and was forced to use fdisk to partition my 2 36gig SCSI drives. I only repartitioned the 2nd drive. I created a 10 gig primary partition and ~26gig extented. My question is, how do I create logical drives within that extented partition? At this point slack doesn't see the extented partition so the space is essentially "lost". I'd like to create a couple logical drives within that extented partition but I don't know how. If someone could tell me how to do this, I'd appreciate it. TIA.

Floppyman, have you tried fdisk -n /dev/sd?

Got the partitions created. Now how do I format them with the ext3 filesystem. Can I use mkfs, or do I need to use some other command or utility? TIA.

Well I got them formatted as ext2, converted them to ext3 and mounted the partitions. Everything seems to be working fine. Thanks again for your help.
