I just wanted to get some opinions on securing Linux.

  1. What users are necessary? Linux by default loads all kinds of users. Most are used by processes. Should you change these all to the root password?
  2. Also what directories need root access & which ones don't?

I have my own opinions on these matters but I just thought that I would ask everyone elses opinion.
