OK today I come home and turn on my computer and as it's about to go into LILO from the page that lists pri master PCI device listing and all that jazz... and instead of flashing then going to LILO screen, the cursor at the bottom types LI and just sits. I try rebooting a few times but it does it ever time. Now last night I did DL a file nthat had a worm on it. AVG found the file and I deleted it. The rest of last night went fine too. I use to have linux but I had to delete those aprtitions and I just use LILO for password protection. I did turns 7 gb of free space into logical drives last night tho. One friend said that LILO is failing or something. Please help ASAP.

Just a suggestion, but you may want to request that a moderator move this to the 'Alternative Operating Systems' forum for you...may get a better response to your question there.

Changing your partition structure can screw up lilo, particularly if you used windows partitioning tools. Windows writes partition info to the mbr differently than linux. Not much you can do now since you no longer have linux installed other than restore your windows boot loader. In win98, you can do that by booting off the startup floppy and run this at the dos prompt:
fdisk /mbr |
