4.1 setup with tbsc
I've tried different linux distros for 2 years now (never ran more than a few hours at a time) but I'm getting a lot more comfortable with this. The one problem was always that my turtle beach santa cruz sound card couldn't support my 4.1 speaker setup under linux. Today however during bootup, I heard that ping sound from all 4 speakers!! (I just rebooted again to make sure). I'm wondering how I would set everything up so that I can play music from all 4 speakers. Cd's still play from only the two front ones.
Thank you Dswissmiss |

You can check this link here:
http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/kb_ftp/8955002.asp For rear speaker support they direct you here: http://www.opensound.com/ but it does not appear to be free. It looks like the rear driver support may not be there in the open source drivers. I did see one post when googling from a fellow that claimed he could get the rear speakers to work by adjusting the volume on the "headphones" section of the mixer. Check this link as well: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc...&module=cs46xx I guess the first place to try is in the mixer(kmix, aumix) and just fiddle around with stuff and see if you can get sound out of the rear speakers bearing in mind that the rear speaker sound may not be properly labled in the mixer. |
