I tried BeOS and my computer screen was scrambled. This guy I know told me it was like that because I only have windows drivers for it. Where can I get drivers for BeOS or any other OS, or is it something different?

I believe your freind to be incorrect. All O/S`s of any kind have thier own "type" of support drivers that are either written by the manufacturer ro a third party.
In any "Linux" type O/S, most of the drivers are third party but there are a few exceptions. Some distributions of Linux have differing support for video. Please repost with the video card "type" and chipset maker. There is a possibility that your particular device may not yet be supported or you didn`t describe it in enough detail for proper function.
Details.....we need details.

BeOS is a separate OS, and has N O T H I N G to do with Windows or its drivers.

As Toaster said, we need details if you expect any help. Unfortunately after the last forum server shift, quite a few of the resident psychics disappeared.. (we just assumed that they would get the new forum address telepathically) .

In any event, here's a self help link:

At least post the compaq model # or u can call tech and confirm what the chipset is. Dont worry it will be compatible actually .. they provide no new or spectacular hardware, just old average run of the mill stuff.
