I have used it in the past and thought it was great but you should know that it will reach its-end-of life for eratta maintenance on April 30th 2004. This means that from May 1st 2004 there will be no more security, bug fix or enhancement updates for this product. You may want to change to Fedora Project or another Linux version. I am using Mandrake 9.2 at the moment and am happy with it but will be trying out others soon.

I liked rehat 9 when I had it installed on my computer. I actually liked it better than Fedora. Though they are basically the same, I couldn't get Fedora to load properly on my laptop, but redhat was just fine. This was the early version Fedora core, so I don't know if the problem was resolved. The only problem I experienced was I couldn't get a wireless USB or Wireless PCI internet adapter working with it. I can't blame Redhat for this since no Linux system I have tried so far will recognize these two devices right out of the box.

I am useing red hat 9.0 on one of my other systems, I like it very much, also printed out the user manual and put it in a 3 ring binder, 3" thick and printed on both sides of the page.
there is a lot of information on all the differant comands and how to use all the features that are included in it,

also have red hot 7.2 on another system for doing the home work for school, as that is the version that is used in the class for trainning. useing it for irc when not doing school work on it
