can suse 9.0 installer rework existing hd partitions?

hey

i'm trying my hand at linux, and am interested in trying it (dual-boot) on my old-build computer, which has a 120gb c: drive with about 99gb free and win xp on the drive. when i built the computer, if i remember correctly, i made the whole hd one partition -- didn't know any better back then.

can suse linux's installer alter the existing windows partition while performing the setup, or do i need to use something like partition magic first, before trying to install linux.

if suse's installer can do this, is there a big risk of it messing up my windows installation?

thanks!

I don't think SuSE installer can resize partitions, you need Partition Magic or something similar.

Yah, save yourself some heartache, if you plan to play in the linux arena, you need to have part magic on hand, it makes things much easier...
