Question HD space required for RedHat9

I have a 1 GB HD i am trying to put RedHat 9 on......please tell me 1 GB is enough space.

I havent used Redhat in a long time but i know its not enough if your using Mandrake... That is if you install the basic stuff. Its possible but you will have to take out alof of the stuff.

I would just install minimal kde and gnome then just install what you can from the desktop.

i am putting the minimal, which will probably be crappy..... only takes up 400 something MBs, lol.

I'll have to get me another HD from somewhere....just happend to find this one under my bed

the full install of red hat ver 9.0 wants a min of at least 5 gig

Ur not going to like it even if you do get it on the hard drive. I had RH9 on a 4.3 gigabyte hard drive with like around 2600 rpm or something like. It took almost a full 4 minutes to start up on my Celeron 2.0ghz, 128mb of DDR 2100 ram. I sudgest if your going to put any thing on that hard drive you should put a less demanding linux on it, like DamnSmall linux, or slackware (which requires 16mbs of ram and a 386).
