Question

over half the time that I type something it doesnt run,so I have to ask,Is there a path in linux redhat6.1?and if so how do I see it,and add to it so programs run without having to switch to that directory?Thanks mike
I said that I was getting better and then I realize that I know very little.

Yes there is an environment variable for the path. It will depend on the shell you are using on how to change it. There is a resource file in your home directory which you can add the path ( e.g. for bash its .bashrc ). See your shell documentation on what resource file to chage and how to change it.
