Exclamation Random internet disconnection.... macbook

Well before you ask... wireless internet (not PW protected), no firewalls... unless macs have one that comes default. This is my friends computer just trying to do her a favor.... i don't use macs, haha

The reason i know it disconnects is because the AIM keeps disconnecting and reconnecting...
Any ideas?

What kind of wireless router, where is it located in relation to her, is it hers, why isn't it secured, what version of OSX?

Macbooks do not respond well to older wireless G routers. You also need a quality router that doesn't have an abnormal amount of packet loss.

Linksys WRT54GL It is hers... its in her basement, right under her room... its a pretty small house too.

Not secured because i diddnt think it made a difference...


Any more input?

Well i switched it to WEP security.. and she still has the same problem.. i really want to get this figured out for her...
