Disable NetBIOS on Mac OS X

Does anyone know how to disable NetBIOS in Mac OS X (10.4)? I need to stop the machine from sending out UDP packets on port 137.
In Windows it is easy to configure, but apparently there isn't any documentation from Apple on how to do this.

This thread is the best I can find:
http://www.broadbandreports.com/foru...sts-in-Leopard
But it doesn't tell you how to re-enable it in the event I need to.

Any Mac network people out there have any ideas?
