Mac OS install over UNIX??

I was just gifted a G4 iMac with UNIX installed. I'd like to put the Mac OS on there, but have never installed Mac OS nor have I ever used UNIX. On a PC I would format the hard drive and run the Windows OS disc, or simply pop in the Windows OS disc and do a new install.. Is the process similar on a Mac with UNIX?

Thanks!!

Just stick the Mac OS disk in the drive, and follow the promts. Any data on the drive will be wiped.
