IPod

Hello all
I have an IPod that is doing something a little strange. When I connect all it says up top is ( OK to disconnect ) It dosnt show Connected. There for the music is not high lighted in the IPod for me to delete or add music. That and when I try adding a folder it adds in the lower section not in my IPod.

Tried a restore but it says ( can not restore because another application is using the IPod )
Im lost , My IPod is unusable to me. Please help !!!!!

It would help if we knew what iPod (Touch, Nano, Classic) you've got as well as what firmware updates, if any, you're using and what iTunes version is installed.

You know what i do whenever i have problems with an ipod, it's mainly with ones that we have formatted on our PCs, i plug them in, and format them with Disk Utility. Then i open up iTunes, and it reputs the firmware on it, and it doesn't have a problem anymore. Give that a shot.

If he's got an older iPod that will work, if he's got a newer one (iPod Touch) it won't since you can't use disk mode with them.
The reports on the latest iPod Classics have been mixed but I can't tell what's really going on there.

Huh that's interesting. Would he be able to do a disk format through Windows?

The answer is no.
He'd have to do a restore to factory specs through his install iTunes.
