iBook G4 problem

I have an iBook G4 that locks up with a message in middle of the screen "You need to restart the computer by pressing the start button for a few seconds"
If I do that it reboots but a few minutes later it does the same thing again!
I ran the apple hardware and it found no problem. Is this an OS problem? Should I reinstall the operating system?
