Firefox overload?
every few hours or so i have to restart my browser due to it not loading pages correctly anymore. i have a MAC OS X and running the latest firefox, but its been happening about a year ago. the pictures just wont load and the screen gets all jumbled, at times it wont let me refresh the page so it just sits there and i have to restart the browser for that too. is there anyway to fix this?
acutally its doing it right now. if you want i cant take a screenshot of it to see what i mean |

If you have tried clearing the cache and are still having problems, then I personally would delete the current mozilla/firefox profile and start from scratch.
Possibly a extension/addon causing problems, what extensions do you use? |

Have you tried disabling the extensions?
Have you tried a different browser as well? |

If you remove firefox you might still deal with this if you have a corrupt profile. I don't think just uninstalling firefox removes the profile you have setup.
So I would try that also if just reinstalling doesn't help. |

Yes firefox has it's own profile, basically storing your personal settings, extensions, cache, etc..
On Mac to start the profile manager. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles Then proceed to delete the old profile and create a new, don't forget to backup any bookmarks if you need them. Last edited by RJS2; 03-11-2009 at 03:55 PM. |
