corny question about wireless
hey, i just helped a friend setup his macbook with his wireless network.
the network is secure using 128bit WEP. yet the macbook doesnt show a lock next to it like it does some of the other networks. the macbook it self under preferences says it is encrypted. is this because the lock means WPA specifically? or. does the lock go away if the system has the key? hes worried his network isnt secure. i also enabled MAC filtering and turned off SSID broadcasting for him. unfortunatly WPA isnt really an option on this network right now. |
