Imac

Soooo Ill be getting My very first MAC ever. Am very excited. Iv been building systems forever
and final come to a conclusion that I may have MAC OS and Windows in one : )

Questions ?
1. once I have bootcamp , If I already have a copy of windows can I use it, Or do I need a special copy from MAC/

2.Can I run W7?

3.Once windows is running in Bootcamp. Will it use all the systems power? I only ask that because I know in VMware on windows the virtual machine almost never utilizes its full system power from the host.

4.Once windows is running on the IMAC and I have 8 Gigs. Im guessing I will need a 64bit windows OS to use that / correct?

This is the IMAC I want - QUAD CORE - 8Gigs RAM

Thanks in advance
these questions are nagging at my brain LOL

Yes, you can run 7.

You won't be able to use a windows CD that comes with a name-brand computer, but any OEM or retail copy will work, so long as it isn't in use elsewhere.

A 64-bit version windows will take advantage of more than 3.5GB of RAM.

What will you be using the mac for? It's a lot of money to plop down for just an surfing and email machine.

If you were planning on a 27" with an i5 or i7 CPU, you might want to hold off a bit until there's fix...the line appears to be defective

It's a pretty well known and reliable source with the apple crowd.

The LCD issue been an ongoing problem for the last few months. Heck, you know apple...they tend to be extremely tight lipped, but it's been all over the tech news sites. This article is just the first time I've seen apple acknowledging the flaw internally. The problem appears to be a defect with the LCD panel

Crap
I was relay excited on getting an I7 with 8 gigs. Well they have had two updates so far which Im sure if I order myn in a week will already have those updates installed. I have faith in apple. They will fix it. That 27" is just to damn nice. I never thought Id be on an apple kick, But iv been confronted with apples and just have no idea how they work. Its time to change that.
I think every computer tech should know how to work both ......

It's useful to know both platforms, yes.

If you want to just test drive a mac, the Apple stores have demo units you can mess with a little bit.

It looks like there's a handful of stores around your area:
