Mac Lap` top
I am wondering if a Mac computer using Snow Leopard and Safari can be set up as a wireless computer this is using Cable Modum and Trendnet TEW 452 BRP . I am not familiar with a Mac at all but my granddaughter needs her computer set up as wireless. There was a disk that came with the Trendnet but it doesn't work. I have set it up before using a desktop PC.
Not sure if I use the same method. Also not sure if there is a place on the Mac operating system like a windows setting it up automatically. Really thought that Mac` would be able to answer my question apparently not unless I pay them. Thanks. |

The disc that came with the router you have (the Trendnet) is probably for Windows only, which is why it doesn't work in the Mac laptop. When setting up a wireless network, if it's already setup on a desktop PC, the disc that came with the router should tell you how to setup the wireless and how to password protect it as well. From there, your Mac should be able to pickup the signal and connect with the password that you chose or they gave, if any for that matter. Our cable company hooked up our network for us and gave us a password, so I didn't have to worry about that. In regards to setting up the Mac, what exactly are you referring to? I can help in anyway that I can because I am a regular Mac user myself.

Hmm, do you have other services like on demand and the TV going though your service provider? If yes, then you would have to use a compatible router with them. I have to do that for Verizon FIOS, I can only use their routers. Hope you can find the right one
