iMac memory upgrade question
I have an iMac 6.1 Core 2 Duo, 2.16 Ghz,1 GB memory, ( max 3 GB).
I read on another site that this computer will run better with 4 GB (2x2GB), 667 MHz, PC2-5300. Can I safely do this? Second question: Can I use 4GB (2x2) PC2 6400 iMac Ram in this computer, instead of PC2-5300? Thanks |

Here you can select what system you have (or have the site scan it) and it'll tell you and show you whats compatable with your machine and how much you can install. It will then show you how much it'll cost you for said RAM. |

Crucial's website will show you Cruicial's prices which are probably not the lowest prices. The nice thing now is that you know your RAM's specs, your computers RAM capacity and number of slots. Then check Amazon, Pricegrabber and Newegg for price.

You'd be surprised how reasonable the prices are on the Crucial website - and the make isn't that bad. Although a quick price check is a good idea

I bought my Macbook Pro memory from Crucial, and I have been very happy with their performance. The price they gave me was nowhere near the prices I found elsewhere, it was a no-brainer or me.
