To those familiar with Macbooks
My ex-girlfriend wanted me to download and save a video from YouTube so she can watch it on her Macbook. I wanted to save the file and put it on a CD or DVD and give it to her, but I am not familiar with Macs. Windows based machines come with Windows Media Player so what do Macs come with?
What kind of file should I save the video as or what are my options? |

Macs come with Quicktime, though you can install VLC on them which will play most video files.
VideoLAN - Official download of VLC media player for Mac OS X Which format are you saving this video in?

I'm looking for suggestions to what file format to save the video in. Maybe something that doesn't take up too much space?

Quicktime (.mov). This will avoid her the fuss of downloading and installing extra apps.
