Mac OS Processes

With the eventual advent of malware for Macs, it has become important for the average Mac user to familiarise himself with what's going under the hood of the OS. This is a list of the legitimate processes that can appear listed in Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor). Whenever you spot a process in there that seems to be consuming lots of CPU cycles and/or memory, use this list to see if it's legit.
