    Hows it going?

I wanted to get your professional opinion on a Blu-Ray player. I am in the market now for one and for me picture quality and sound quality is the most important thing. Picture in picture would be nice but it is not all that important. The Live feature is not all that important at all since I doubt I would ever use it...Why do that when you have a high end gaming machine with all the best games?

So, what I have looked at is the new Sony BDP-S350 which is due out July 15..at Circuit City at least for $400

I have also looked at the Sharp BD-HP20U which according to PC world has much better than average picture and great audio but lacks the latest uncompressed audio format....forgot what that that is called.

I like all the features of the Panasonic DMP-BD50 including the uncompressed audio but I have not seen any ratings for the picture quality. The price at $700 from Crutchfield seems a bit high as well.

I guess what I really want is a player with the best picture and the best audio and all the other candy like picture in picture and internet accesss is secondary. Firmware upgradibility I would imagine is also important?

I have a Denon AVR 3808CI...which I guess does have the ability to decode uncompresed sound formats?...not sure about that.

    Thanks,
    David M
