I have 3 pcs on my home network, 98SE, ME and W2K. All in the same workgroup and I can ping each machine from one another. The ME and W2K machines can see each other when I search in network neighbourhood but not the 98 machine.

98 pc can only see itself.

What are you using for protocols? Use tcp/ip for internet and Netbeui for filesharing. I've read of some problems with win98 machines seeing win2k and vice versa on the M$ website, you may want to check it out. HTH
