Hi everyone
I have a deskop pc and a notebook pc atm i have them networked via a ethernet cable from the desktop to the network switch and then a WAP connected to the switch with my notebook with a pcmica wireless card in it I am using the 802.11b which is 11mbs The WAP is made by belkin and the network card is made by Linksys. I am gonna get broardband soon with BT and I am just wondering if the 11mbs will still be ok when using ICS or should I get the 802.11g 54mbs stuff now. thanks |

unless you have an outrageously fast internet connection then your wireless is far faster than your internet access so wireless will not be your bottleneck.

after you get wideband, you do not want to use ICS for the network connections, use a router instead, if you can

Problem there is BT will only give you a USB modem, unless they have changed their policy recently. Routers require an Ethernet modem unless you want to spend the big bucks for a Draytek or buy your own ADSL modem/router combo.
