Well, the only Google links I found for that error pointed at AVG Free 7.0 when you have shared folders on a network - the first thing I uninstalled was AVG and that didn't fix it. The next thing I uninstalled was ZA because that's the only other major program I installed recently, and bingo. Put ZA 4.5 and AVG back on and its still working fine. Before I uninstalled anything, I maxed out the IRP stacks in the registry with no help.

Installed the 6.0 version and got repeated blue screens saying driver conflicts. Uninstalled and went back to the 5.5 version. Seems fine now.

Question about this new version... If you look at the icon in the system tray it seem to have some kind of symbol blinking all the time.. Does anyone have any idea what it is?? Or is anyone having the same trouble?????

Not sure what you mean, DD... Mine blinks, and always has, when there is Internet activity. Is that what you mean?

No mine blinks like it always does when there is activity.. This flashes over the A in ZA... The program works no problem.. This is something that is new and I'm trying to figure out what the purpose is.. ZA hasn't been any help it figureing out what it is... I tried to attach a picture, but with the size limitation you can't see jack period.....

Mine's never done that (any version). I have Check for updates automatically turned off. I wonder if that's just ZA looking for updates??

I hate being paranoid but if a clean re-install won't fix it I'd start thinking about new and interesting versions of malware.

My trial of ZA Pro just ran out, and now I can't install the free home version because setup cannot shut down True Vector. It tells me to go into my service manager and disable it and restart the installer, but when I go into my services, I don't have True Vector anywhere.
Ideas?

Have you checked with ZA for any solutions? Try going into the registry and deleting anything that goes with ZA. i have done this with other programs with good results.. Only thing I sitll hate messing with the registry, but soemtimes you have to just do it..

Yeah, I know True Vector is part of ZA, but I allready uninstalled the previous version. And it's not running on startup. That's the part that confuses me.

I don't believe it shows up under Task Manager, but it should in msconfig under Services; have you looked there?

Yup, I had it there for awhile, and tried setting it Automatic, Manual, or Disabled, and none worked.
Then I uninstalled the old version, and it dissappeared. ![]() I've got a new harddrive that I need to add, so I'm thinking of making it the master with a fresh install of Windows XP. It's a 250 GB Diamond Maxtor SATA with 16 mb cache. So maybe I'll solve that problem with the fresh install.I'm planning on using one of my current IDE drives in an external kit that I got from Newegg. Incase you care.
