Careful though, after that comcast will come after you, and I assume that you probably sign up for the first year with the contract.

just to let you know what i read, modem isn't free, but a rebate, so you will still dish out the dough first, then wait for the 2 years for the rebate (really like 8 weeks or something liek that).

That's legit. No contract, it just goes to $49 a month ($15 more if you don't have a cable TV package too) after the first 6 months. Yes, the modem deal is a rebate but you are not renting the modem, they give it to you.
