Question A tough issue

I have an old CTX International laptop that my wife got from her workplace. It had no OS installed, but it had been a Win95 laptop/notebook, so I installed Win98se on it and it works quite well.
Now I am trying to install a wireless pcmcia adapter and it needs a 32-bit cardbus installed. In the network configuration wizard of the Microsoft MN-720 pcmcia adapter it made reference to being able to download this support. Does anyone have a clue what I need to do to proceed?

cardbus is a different slot than the traditional PCMCIA slot. (it analogous to ISA vs PCI in a desktop). If your laptop does not have a cardbus slot then you need to find a non-cardbus card.

When CTX laptops (mid to late 90's) the transition was underway to cardbus so your laptop may or may not have the proper slot(s). before you give up, try the other slot and see if it will accept the card.

You may have to try a USB adapter. 16 bit wireless PCMCIA cards are hard to find. I know the original Linksys WPC11 cards are 16 bit (I have one), but the current version is now Cardbus.

Mbossman2, Tried both slots....no power light on card...no connection...no acknowledgement that a card is even inserted.

I think you are right, GLC. Looks like external USB is my best bet. Thanks guys.
