What are tracking cookies? Are they harmful to my PC?
Every time I use SpyBot or Ad-Aware to scan my PC, they found many tracking cookies in my PC. I usually delete them but they keep coming back.
What are tracking cookies? Who send these tracking cookies to my PC? Are these tracking cookies harmful to my PC? Any privacy concerns with this coodies? Can I stop only tracking cookies from entering my PC? |

AFAIK, tracing cookies keep track of where you browse on the internet.
Probably the eaiset way to stop these from getting onto your computer is to use software like Spyware Blaster. |

Spywareblaster stops a LOT of spyware but it doesn't get all of the tracking cookies. You should still run Spybot and Adaware to remove those that it doesn't get.

As was mentioned, these cookies gather data about where you go on the internet. Certain people/companies use this information so they know how to aim their advertising methods...(thus perpetuating our awe-inspiring capatalist free market system)...up to and including aiming ads directly at YOU.
They are not harmful to your computer per se, but I personally sleep better at night knowing they arent on my hard drive. I use the methods the others mentioned (SpywareBlaster, Adaware, etc.) and I also regulate which cookies are accepted by my browser. To do this, you may try entering your browser's options menu (usually Tools-->Options-->) and find where you can configure your browser to accept cookies. If you have Firefox, for example, you can tell the browser to prompt you before accepting ANY cookies. |

You can have a look about Cookies here :
Cookie Central The Tracking Cookies just quarantine/delete them using some anti Spyware/Adware program.

There are a lot more harmful things to worry about than tracking cookies. I simply have my browser set to delete cookies on close - and I don't use IE.
