dialup serial rs232 modem / XP
First of all, I'm new to XP. I'm trying to get an external modem to work as a short term solution. I have the modem installed and it shows up in device manager as working OK on COM 1. When I installed XP it would dial microsoft OK. Now I am trying to use the internet connection wizard to create a dial up connection. When I go through that process, then it says modem not working on COM 1. Even though it shows working under device manager??
Can anyone help me please? Thanks. |

On my XP builds, I load my ISP software first and it did the rest. Didn't have to go into the Internet wizard.
