I am trying to get a linksys wmp11 wireless B-card to work with linksys wireless wrt54G router. The problem I am having is that I cannot get it to connect to router. It is picking up a signal, but just is not connecting. Both computers are using windows xp. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to make this work?
It is using static ip address on the router.

do you have wep enabled on the router? if so, you will need to put the wep key on the comp with the card. also, you will need to give the comp an ip if you are using static ip (that is, you have dhcp disabled)

I am trying to set this up for someone else. It is not using a wep key. I am not sure if the dhcp is disable. I am not where the computer is right now I will have to get back with you on that. I am just trying right now to figure out what I can do to fix it when I get back to it.

let me just make sure we are on the same page before you disable dhcp. did you assign an ip to the computer that is working? did you also assign an ip to the computer that is not working. if the router is in fact using dhcp, make sure the comp that isn't working is set to receive an ip automatically
