question about routers

i am in need of a new router, i have seen good reviews about the Linksys WRT54G, should i get that or something else

Hey Kevin,

It really depends on what you are looking for. Do you need wireless? I would not get wireless unless you really need it. It is just another open door to worry about. If you do need wireless, ensure that it has WPA encryption and make sure you use it. The router you mention does indeed have it.

I have had my WRT54g for a year and half or so. And it has been working perfectly since I got it. No problems and very easy setup. Although I have nothing to compare it to since I have only had linksys routers.
