ZA won't let me read e-mails!
I have used Zone Alarm (free version) for several years and was happy with it, so I decided to install the whole Security Suite and that's when my problems started:
I can no longer read my e-mails in Hotmail - can only get as far as the inbox but can't open any e-mails. (I can read Yahoo e-mails but only if I accepted their instruction to "revert to an earlier version" of their site) I know the problem is ZA cos when I disable it, I can read the e-mails without any problems. The forum at Zonelabs was no help. I'm using Win XP Pro and all the default configurations in the ZA Suite. I would be grateful for any help. |

I think the built in "privacy" features of ZA are blocking hotmail. Open the ZA window, go to "Privacy" and switch "Ad Blocking" off. I'd also switch "Cookie Control" off, since I've seen that cause (different) problems (sites that cannot remember any login/passwords). ZA is a very good firewall, but the "privacy" features are a minor disaster. Also, like suggested in your other thread, do not run ZA 5.0, it has a whole slew of other problems.

Will do as you advise.
Right now it seems the site is "busy" so I can't see if it works. I will try again later. BTW, what are web bugs and third party cookies? Should I block these or not? Right now it seems the site is "busy" so I can't see if it works. I will try again later. Will let you know. |
