LAN Firewall problem
Hey guys,
i recently finally, after much trouble, got my LAN all worked out, but i still have a big problem, i cant use ANYTHING that i did, because i have ZA running on 2 of the 3 pc's i set the LAN up. and i really dont want to close it. now im concerned about the zonealarm stuff, i REALLY dont wanna enable SPI firewall in the router's settings again, because it messed up all my network-concerned progs, such as games, software, etc... anyways, i can get zonealarm pro, or should i get sygate personal firewall, or what ? also, i tried the trial version of pro, and it gave me a hard time, i just installed it over normal ZA and it just messed everything, i had to reinstall it (couldnt visit any website cause it did some auto-locking mechanism thing to keep hackers out if they ever disable ZA) so how can i install pro ? uninstall ZA and then install pro ? or just go sygate ? and if i go sygate, uninstall it ? theres a chance i HAVE uninstalled ZA, but it still messed around, do i have to go safe mode to do this ? plz help me out guys :-P 10x, KoMoDo |

I feel that you really donot need any software firewall when your useing a router, the router will be a hardware fire wall and when useing additional software firewall will cause more problems that you need.

hmm are u sure ?
i have opened several ports for progs and games i run. also, i disabled SPI firewall, and my bro, which knows alot about this, told me that means it disabled everything. although im pretty sure its just a main firewall, but i still have closed ports. wadda u think ? KoMoDo |
