you have failed the view test?

i heard a click from inside my computer and then it locked up for a few seconds and the internet also went out for a few seconds. i just signed back on and everythign was fine. i went to answer the phone and find out my mom has been getting a busy signal when trying to call the house for the past 20 minutes even though i haven't been on it. when i come back i find it stopped my music and there is a robtic female voice saying "you have failed the view test" or "you have failed computer" wasn't real clear. so i ended all applications and all unknown processes but it kept going. i hit restart and it logged out and said windows is shutting down and it STILL KEPT GOING. now while i've been writing this, internet explorer has already crashed once. this's freaking the crap outta me. also when i booted up 3dsmax, there were no buttons in it. any ideas?

Run Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and an updated virus scanner. You may have a porn dialer or something like that running in the background.

I have just been reading through my notes and yes this is a dialer, (the womans voice was the giveaway), as far as I am aware if you are living in the states you should be ok because the number dialed is not accessible from the states without the international code and the code is not there.
How do you connect to the internet? dial up or highspeed?, which ever way, by the sound of it if your phone line was busy, which means you have a modem connected in your computer. Go to control panel and delete the new connection that will be in your network connection folder and check the properties of your own connection while you are there, you need to do this and NOT restart your machine or the application that did this will just create a new account. If you are using a high speed modem your internet connection will have been lost because of cross talk between the two signals. BEFORE you reboot your machine you must either find the dialer or remove the internal modem and run the most up to date version of adaware (1.05 personal is the latest I know of). If you are using dialup reboot your machine go straight to control panel and delete the rouge dialup connection and download the latest updates or version of adaware, Norton antivirus is unlikely to find this because it is not considered a virus.

Costing you money or not, I would unplug the modem phone cord until the PC is fixed.

somebody on another forum said it may have very well been a voice warning on my motherboard. and i ran adaware se professional, spysweeper, and pc-cillin. though spysweeper did find a cookie for something that may have been like that, no other things were found, i have comcast cable and there were no new network connections that i saw and after i restarted nothing came up again. and just to clarify it wasn't exactly a female voice but more like one of those robotic computer voices that usually sound a bit female. and yes i do live in the us and i did a quick manual run thru of all my folders and processes and there was not anything in there remotely of the sort and it has not happened again since then. though i am kinda worried now as my parents would absolutely kill me if it was a porn dialer

also my internet connection was not lost and about 20 minutes before my mom called i did hear the phone ring once and then nothing but when i picked it up it was a dial tone and about 10 minutes after the ring and before my mom called there was a telemarketer. and fwi my mobo is an Asus K8V SE Deluxe which apparently does have a voice warning.
