Can't Share files

I have just finished a build on a new pc..and am trying to share a network with my other pc... I have windows XP pro.
The main pc can access all the files in the 2ndary pc. The 2ndary pc can connect to the internet thru the 1st pc, but cannot access the files. I have shared them using the same procedure on both pc's. I can ping both of them with no problems.
I have the firewall disconnected on both pc's.
Any thoughts?
Edit: I have just read a previous thread "networking for dummies" and disabled Zone Alarm. I can now connect the printer ( another problem solved) but at this stage cannot still access files on main pc. But at least there is progress.

Are you being prompted for a user name/password?

Are the files you want to share from the 1st PC set up to be shared with the second PC?

Allfiles and folders on both pc's were set up the same. Both pc are shared. I can see the hand holding the folders etc on both pc's.
The 2ndary pc comes up with the message.
"Tony1 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator to see if you have access permissions.
Access is denied."
I am logged in as the administrator on both pc's.
I think I will have to delete both networks and start again.
As an afterthoght, I looked in Zone Alarm on the main pc and it has given "trusted" access rights to my 2ndary pc as IP address 192.168.0.0. and yet when I do an "ipconfig" on this 2ndary pc I get 192.168.0.2. Yet I can't alter Zone Alarm. Could this be the problem?

For troubleshooting sake, see if the Guest user account is activated. If it's not, activate it. If prompted for a user name/password use the admin info.

Zone Alarm (and most other software firewalls, including the builtin XP firewall) can prevent filesharing. Shut it down and try again.

I tried the "Guest log on" which didn't alter anything. I also disabled Zone Alarm on both pc's and still only the file sharing on one pc only. But on the main pc, there was a listing under "Network Connections" that said "Repair this connection". I ran it and this message came up.

The following steps of the repair failed: Flushing the ARP cache.
Please contact your network administrator or ISP.

I'll potter around some more. But I do appreciate all the advice. Thanks
