Please Help!!!
I have a mixed network of Win 98 & Win Xp Pro computers on a Win 2003 domain. Everytime a Win98 computer loggs onto the domain the first time for that day, they get a domain can not be found. The Win XP computers login fine. On the second attempt to log in on the 98 computers it loggs in fine. Is there a way for me to pause the login somewhere in the registry so the 98 computers will be slowed down upon login? Or if someone has any other suggestion I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Assign the 98 computers static IP's or add NetBEUI to them and the server. 98 is notorious for timing out before it finds the DHCP server.

All the 98 computer have static IP's with no dhcp server on the network. Do you think that installing netbeui will work?

It may - but if you have more than 10 workstations on the network, the broadcast traffic will slow down the network pretty heavily.
Do you have the proper gateway and DNS set on the static IP boxes? |

You can make win2003 domain as a DHCP, DNS, and default gateway..
