Mac Spoofing attack on my win 98se laptop
I have a old 266mhz laptop running win98se. when i sign on to my dial-up account i get a mac spoofing attack logged into sygate pro. i then signed on to AIM and i got another spoof attack from a different IP address. should I be worried? I dont have a network card hooked up to the laptop. only a dial up modem that is internal. I scanned for viruses with AVG and nothing showed up. Thanks for any help.

I wonder if they are just random packets on the net or really directed at you.
I guess a round of spyware scanning may be in order since you have already scanned for viruses. Spybot and adaware come to mind.

scanned for that too but nothing showed up. I did find out one thing though. The first IP address that showed up is related to Firefox on the firefox homepage. It has something to do with RSS so that is ok. I deleted an extra dial up adapter that was on my pc and so far no mac spoofing. maybe that did it.
