Wireless for Dell Inspiron 8600
I am trying to pick up an Inspiron 8600 from Dell's outlet but I noticed there are quite a few different specs for wireless cards, PCI 2100 mini-cards, Intel 2200, Dell 1350 and 1450. Would any of these do or should I stick with one of them? Any other options not to pass here?
Thanks. Last edited by Charles; 10-07-2004 at 05:45 PM. |

2100 is a b-only card. 2200 is b/g as is the 1350. The 1450 is a/b/g. Depending what you want to do, any will do, but the 2100 is gonna be slow on a g network.
b = 11mbps 2.4 GHz g = 54mbps 2.4 Ghz a = 54mbps 5.0 GHz b and g are interoperable, a needs specific a equipment. |
