Trying to Connect work laptop at home

Hi everyone,

I have a work laptop and I'm trying to connect it to my home network. I can get it to work if i disable all the settings for the work network but that is a pain. it has a defualt gateway and a preferred dns server set up. aslo dhcp is enabled in case that means anything. from what i read it sounded like i could just go into alternate configuration and make sure it says obtain an ip address automatically. well that didnt work. under status and support of the local connectiong it is still saying my defualt gateway is the work one. i am running the laptop through a router at home. can someone please help thanks.

scott

did you try making a NEW connection for use at home, it will then give you 2 seperate lan connections, one for work and one for home.

but then I am assuming that you have xp-pro installed

ok then try this option:
create a new user, and log on as that user , then see if you can create a new lan connection.

I normall only need to change the workgroup name, to use another lan connection

Have you tried just logging on to the computer name and setting it up that way?
