just did a fresh install of windows xp pro sp1, and all i have installed are avg free, ad-aware and spybot. somehow already i have a virus (ftpupd.exe in the system32 folder). neither avg or housecall is able to remove it. i have run updates as well, but i nothing else has been done. any ideas? thanks
the virus infecting the file is worm/padobot.v craig

Try this link for help http://www.computing.net/security/ww...rum/13688.html. You can also do a google search for many other responses for additional help. Remember to turn off system restore in XP before you clean your system, as the infection could rside itself in there.
