NIC Card Problem
The NIC card is connected and working properly but the problem is that I cannot connect to the network. I think the problem is with the ip adress it does not change even whe I set a new internet or network connection. I'm so loss and confuse because if I use the IP address that is set by default I can PING the card but yet I still cannot connect to the internet or see the network. Can any help PLEASE!!!

could you give more details on what network your trying to connect to.
if your running a wideband modem and a router, and have more that one computer, they all must be on the same work group before it will work. |

Do you have a self build, or a brand name ?
Lots of Dell and Compaq are proprietary, and won't work real well with new hardware. I had to get a USB Ethernet Adapter for my Compaq, works like a charm. Have you tried to get onto the internet to make sure the card works? Sometimes even it says it is installed properly it might not work.

Is a wire LAN and for the internet connection I'm using a DSL modem w/ a router. I already set all the computers to be on the same work group. |

It's good to have them on the same workgroup, but it's just as important that they are all "speaking" the same language. Make sure the protocols are the same for all your machines.

Try to use the network card without the router and see if you can get onto the internet that way. The problem may not be the card at alll.
